Breaking into the film industry is a dream shared by many, but for most, that dream is met with roadblocks: the competition, the gatekeepers, the lack of connections. At Screenlit Media, we understand these struggles because we’ve seen them firsthand. Founded by a team of filmmakers and industry professionals who’ve experienced the challenges of starting from scratch, we’re dedicated to changing the landscape for the next generation of storytellers.

Our mission is simple: to bridge the gap between education and industry, making the journey into filmmaking more accessible, collaborative, and empowering. We believe in the power of community, where newcomers can connect not just with seasoned industry veterans but with others who are just starting their own journeys. We aim to create an environment where filmmakers—whether they’re screenwriters, directors, or producers—are given the support, resources, and opportunities to succeed, no matter their background or experience level.

The idea for Screenlit Media came from the very real struggles that emerging filmmakers face when trying to get their foot in the door. After spending years navigating the often overwhelming and opaque industry system, we realized there was a need for a bridge—something that could connect creative minds with the right people, resources, and opportunities to help turn ideas into tangible projects. Whether it’s through script development, production partnerships, or career management, our goal is to simplify the process and make it easier for talented filmmakers to take the next step in their careers.

Mike Williams

Founder/ Producer
Mike Williams is an experienced producer and the visionary founder of Screenlit Media. With a passion for empowering emerging filmmakers, Mike has spent over two decades navigating the film industry’s complexities and understanding the challenges newcomers face. His career spans producing award-winning short films, features, and working closely with film schools to help students bridge the gap between education and industry. Driven by a commitment to mentorship and collaboration, Mike built Screenlit Media to be a supportive and accessible platform for aspiring filmmakers to connect, create, and thrive in the industry.
Elle Parks

Senior Producer/ Outreach
Elle Parks is a dynamic producer and the driving force behind outreach at Screenlit Media. With a deep commitment to fostering talent and building lasting industry connections, Elle has worked across a variety of genres, helping filmmakers bring their projects to life from script to screen. Her background in both production and community engagement enables her to connect emerging filmmakers with the right people, resources, and opportunities. Passionate about creating an inclusive and collaborative environment, Elle plays a pivotal role in expanding Screenlit Media’s network and ensuring that all voices have a platform in the film industry.
Kyle Baus

Script Development/ Outreach
With a MFA in Screenwriting from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, and having spent more than 7 years working at Disney Studios, Kyle brings his writing expertise and experience to help develop scripts and more importantly unique voices with something to say and stories to tell. Passionate about storytelling, Kyle is an excellent collaborator and can help bring attention to your script.
Carlie Holland

Senior Manager
Carlie Dixon is the Senior Manager at Screenlit Media, where she plays a key role in coordinating projects and managing relationships with filmmakers and industry professionals. With a keen eye for talent and a passion for supporting emerging creators, Carlie ensures that every project gets the attention it deserves.
Jake Smith

Technical Production Lead
Jake Smith is the Technical Production Lead at Screenlit Media, specializing in mentoring and guiding filmmakers in editing, cinematography, VFX, and other technical aspects of production. With years of hands-on experience in the industry, Jake provides valuable insights and support to emerging filmmakers, helping them sharpen their technical skills and elevate their projects to a professional level. Jake has a MFA in Cinematography from Long Beach State College.
Madison Smiley

Outreach Manager/ Commercial Lead
Madison Smiley is a dedicated manager specializing in commercial work, helping emerging filmmakers break into the industry through paid gigs and brand collaborations. With a keen eye for cinematic storytelling and marketable content, she connects talented creatives with opportunities that hone their skills, build their portfolios, and pay the bills. Passionate about bridging the gap between art and commerce, Madison ensures that filmmakers can pursue their long-term goals while creating high-quality commercial work that stands out.
